Coventry 1 2 Tottenham Spurs Snatch Last Gasp Win

Coventry 1-2 Tottenham: Spurs snatch last-gasp win

Spurs left it late to avoid an upset and progress into the fifth round of the FA Cup, with substitute Harry Kane scoring a dramatic 82nd-minute winner.

The Sky Blues, who play in the third tier of English football, took a shock lead through Viktor Gyokeres before Lucas Moura levelled for Tottenham, but it was Kane who proved to be the hero with a late header.

Coventry started the game brightly and took the lead in the seventh minute when Gyokeres latched onto a long ball and finished coolly past Hugo Lloris. Tottenham struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first half, but they equalised just before the break when Moura converted a cross from Son Heung-min.

The second half was a more even affair, with both sides having chances to win the game. Coventry came close to retaking the lead when Callum O'Hare hit the post, while Tottenham had a great chance to win it in the 80th minute when Kane was denied by Ben Wilson.

However, Kane was not to be denied and he finally got the winner two minutes later, heading in from a corner to send Tottenham through to the next round. It was a dramatic end to the game, and Tottenham will be relieved to have avoided an upset.

The win means that Tottenham have now won four of their last five games in all competitions, and they will be looking to continue their good form when they face Manchester City in the Premier League on Thursday.
