China Unicom and Huawei Launch Ultra-Large-Scale 55G Network in Beijing

China Unicom Beijing and Huawei have successfully deployed a pilot large-scale 55G network in Beijing, providing continuous coverage in three key areas. This deployment follows their previous successful commercialization of the world's largest 35 GHz 2CC network in August 2022, which brought 200 MHz 2CC coverage to more areas. The new 55G 3CC network offers even more capacity and coverage, enabling a wide range of new applications and services.
Key Features of the 55G Network:
- Ultra-large-scale coverage: The network covers more than 70% of Beijing's urban area, providing seamless connectivity for residents and businesses.
- High speeds and low latency: The network offers peak speeds of up to 10 Gbps, with latency as low as 1 ms. This enables a variety of applications such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and cloud gaming.
- Advanced network architecture: The network utilizes Huawei's advanced network architecture, which allows for more efficient use of spectrum and increased capacity.
The deployment of the 55G network is a significant milestone in China's development of next-generation wireless networks.
