American sprinter Rai Benjamin has avenged his loss to Norway's Karsten Warholm in the men's 400m hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics by winning the gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in Saint-Denis, France.

Benjamin, 25, ran a season's best of 47.32 seconds to cross the finish line ahead of Warholm, who took silver in 47.83 seconds, and Brazil's Alison dos Santos, who won bronze in 47.84 seconds.

Benjamin's victory marks the first time an American man has won the 400m hurdles world title since 2011.

After crossing the finish line, Benjamin fell to the ground in disbelief, overwhelmed with emotion.

"I can't believe I did it," Benjamin said after the race. "I've been dreaming of this moment my entire life."

Benjamin's victory is a testament to his hard work and determination. He has overcome numerous injuries throughout his career, but he has never given up on his dream of becoming the world's best hurdler.
