Swiss football team announces preliminary squad for Euro 2024
Experienced goalkeeper Yann Sommer leads the pack
Switzerland's national football team has released a preliminary squad of 38 players for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament.
The squad includes experienced goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who plays for Inter Milan and has made over 80 appearances for his country. Sommer is joined by fellow goalkeepers Gregor Kobel of Borussia Dortmund and Yvon Mvogo of FC Lorient.
The Swiss team is ranked 15th in the FIFA World Rankings and will be looking to make a strong impression at Euro 2024. The tournament will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
Switzerland has been drawn in Group A alongside Spain, Ukraine, and North Macedonia. The team will open its campaign against Spain on June 14 in Bilbao.
